Therapy gives you a dedicated space to just be—without judgment, labels, or pressure to meet anyone else’s expectations. Unlike a friend or family member, I’m not personally invested in your life or attached to a single perspective. My role is to help you clarify what’s right for you.

How is therapy different from talking to loved one?

Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people come in with a specific goal and find what they need in a few months; others choose therapy as an ongoing space for support.

As a starting point, I usually recommend weekly sessions for 8–12 weeks—where time and budget allow—to build momentum. From there, we’ll check in regularly and adjust the pace based on your needs.

How long will therapy take?

That’s completely normal —   Sometimes, just starting with whatever is on your mind, even if it feels small or unrelated, can lead to meaningful insights.

If you’re feeling stuck, I’ll help guide the conversation with questions or prompts related to your goals.

What if I don’t know what to talk about in session?

I’m no snitch— Your privacy is a priority. What you share in therapy stays between us, except in cases of serious risk of harm or suspected abuse of a vulnerable person.

I’m an independent therapist, I do not work for an agency or government entity. If you use insurance, I provide minimal clinical documentation—never a play-by-play of your life.

So if you’re doing things that don’t involve safety or your mental health, that’s your business—not my notes.

How do you maintain privacy/confidentiality?

In the first session, we’ll focus on your background and what’s going on in your daily life. I’ll ask questions like what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like to be different as a result of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll move at your pace.

If anything feels unclear or off, we’ll talk about that too. My goal is for the process to feel supportive and transparent—not like a job interview or a test.

What can I expect from a first session?
